“And God blessed them saying, ‘Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.’” (Genesis 1:22-23)
The word “blessing” conveys biblical happiness, benefit, or praise. Its first use in Scripture occurs at the end of Creation’s fifth day, in Genesis 1:22. The word derives from the Hebrew root word barak, meaning to kneel, a significant inference pointing to a relationship between the Creator and His creation, existing immediately at its conception… in the beginning.
